NEW June 6-7, 2020 .22 Silhouette Match

The NMLRA is excited to be hosting a .22 silhouette match on June 6-7 in conjunction with our Center Fire Shoot the same weekend.

The .22 shoot is being organized by Jim Davis

Match fee will be $25 per day. We will have target setters for both days. We will start signing up at 9:00am and start the match at 10:00am. We will still have two classes, modern and traditional. Saturdays match will be the regular silhouette match but Sunday will be an all prone match using the same animals. We will shoot chickens at 100 yards, pigs at 150 yards, turkeys at 200 yards, and rams at 300 meters.

Dan Thomas is having a centerfire shoot Saturday so bring your gear if you would like to shoot after our Saturday match, fee to shoot centerfire is $10.  This is a special introductory price.  Membership to the NMLRA is required.  You can purchase a membership for $35 which will include your $10 registration.

Silhouettes will be set out to 500 yards for you to play with. The Gongs are fun at 500, but you’ll quickly become addicted to the soda can silhouettes!

You can also practice and get sight setting for Sunday's silhouette match. Food trailer will be there both days. Any questions call me 812-371-5262. Centerfire questions call Dan Thomas 812-667-6192 or the NMLRA main office at 812-667-5131.

A Weekend with the Longhunters of Western Indiana | Muzzle Blasts on the Road

We were invited out for a small camp and shoot this weekend by Eli Froedge and Jason Jacobs. It was a great weekend of black powder and fellowship.

The following is shared from camp organizer Jason Jacobs,

‘A little preview of our camp/shoot, last weekend. We had 17 camps and 22 shooters. We had shooters from five states. Great time had by all. Lots of shooting; 20 shot rifle course, 20 shot smooth bore course, 10 shot pistol course, 14 block hawk and knife course, long range rifle match, clay bird shoot, candle shoot and a clatch match. Winner on the clatch match was 53, IIRC. Long range match started at 80 yards and ended at 140 yards on a 12 inch steel plate. Two tables full of awesome food and a 29 pound ham on the spit.‘

Photos in this slideshow were taken by Muzzle Blasts reporters who attended the event.

2020 Primitive Range Family Reunion - Vendors/ Craftspeople Welcome!

2020_PFR_Vendors_001.jpg

With so many events canceled this year, we want to extend an invitation to vendors and craftspeople to join us for our Primitive Range Family Reunion, July 24-26, 2020

While this will be an informal event with limited attendance, you are welcome to bring your shop or trade blanket and hang out with us for the weekend!

We ask that you pay the family camp rate of $15 for the weekend, payment is not due until you set up camp, this way you aren't out anything if COVID 19 cancels this event.

If interested, please email eyazel@nmlra.org, thank you!
