Getting into shaping the stock now. There is where it starts to get fun. I go pretty long on the shaping. Seems like lots of people are scared off by carving out the stock. Hopefully this shows that it is not so hard to do.

Talking with Dennis Priddy at NMLRA Gunmaker's Hall | 2019
We catch up with Gunmaker’s Hall Demonstrator and craftsman Dennis Priddy to talk shop about some of the muzzle loaders he brought to the NMLRA National Championships in September 2019.
Dennis has been a Gunsmith for many years now. Having always enjoyed working with his hands, he was naturally attracted to building muzzle loaders as the trade uses so many skills and disciplines.
We talk with Dennis about two of his muzzle loaders, each as ornate as the last. You would think these fine rifles spend their days locked in a safe, but the first rifle shown here is his daily driver and go-to hunting rifle!

Duelist 1954 builds a flintlock swivel breech longrifle
During the latest episode of the Muzzle Blasts Podcast, we talked with Mike Beliveau of the Duelist1954 youtube channel. In the podcast we glanced over this rifle build, so I just had to go to his youtube and learn more about it.
A look at an original 225 year old flintlock
It was wonderful to get our eyes on this original Beck flintlock rifle during our September National Championship. This rifle is estimated to be 225 years old, it was converted to percussion during its life, but was converted back to flintlock with what is believed to be an early Siler Lock.
Owned by "Pole Cat Porter" in the early 1900s, this rifle, and its owner was instrumental to early muzzleloading and living history (At the time termed Buckskinning).
We sit down with exhibit organizers Mark Barnhill and William E. Jones to talk about the Pole Cat Porter exhibit, early 1900s muzzleloading and more in an upcoming video, stay tuned!
